BFG: Calixis Sector Campaign Turn 1

Hi guys!

So the first week of our little BFG campaign kicked off last night with two closely fought games. Each teams picked their controlled planets (we somehow managed to muck this up and not evenly divide the planets – so the planet Settlement 228 has magically rebelled and joined the Renegade side over night…) before deciding where they would be attacking that turn – the Renegades launching an attack on the sector capital of Scintilla, while the Orks attacked toward the mining planet of Luggnum.

It was the first ever game of BFG for two of the players, so we just played a small 500pt Cruiser Clash overLuggnum, while the other two played a 1000pt Planetary Assault scenario over Scintilla. Victory went to the defenders in both cases – meaning the map remained unchanged.

While on the other table the Imperials manage to destroy all the Orks apart from a single damaged Kill Kroozer, while the Imperials are left with a damaged Dictator and a single Sword

So with victory to the Orks over Scintilla and victory to the Imperials over Luggnum, the map stays as it is, with each side maintaining control over their current planets. However victory did earn the victorious commanders some additional benefits – an additional shield generator for an Imperial Gothic class cruiser, while the Ork Meks rigged up some Grot shaped targetters on the Warlord’s Rok – while the planets controlled produced campaign points for each side meaning that the two teams are currently drawn – Orks with 19 points (18 planets controlled, +1 for a victory) against the Renegades 19 points (18 planets controlled, +1 for a victory).

Next week the opponents are being switched to allow the newbie players to play against the ones that have played before at 750pts!
