EPIC – The rest of the Daemons

Right, this is the last of the posts about my recently painted EPIC Daemon army bringing together all of the formations not yet covered. These are mix of some of the slightly weirder formations, both god-aligned and undivided formations.

7 Beasts of Nurgle
7 Beasts of Nurgle

First up, are seven Beasts of Nurgle using the odl metal models. They are quite nice models and in game they give a formidably resilient formation to the army. They have a 3+ armour save and an Invulnerable which gives them a good chance of shrugging off anything apart from MW firepower. I quite like teleporting these in to either threaten the enemy’s Blitz, or using their Ignore Cover attacks to drive formations out of cover.

16 Juggernauts of Khorne
16 Juggernauts of Khorne

Although expensive at 50 points a pop, Juggernauts are defintiely a force to be reckoned with. Sporting a 3+ Armour Save, a 3+ MW attack in close combat, and effectively a 40cm charge move – Juggernauts can threaten just about any enemy formation. Still they are quite slow when not on the engage and are poor in firefight, so they do have thier drawbacks.

10 Chaos Spawn

Next up are a couple of the Unidivided formations available to the army, Spawn and Furies. The Spawn above are from Dark Realm Miniatures – Claw Beasts – and fit quite well into the imagery of Slaaneshi spawn. In game, they are hampered by their slow speed and lack of firefight, but when they do reach combat their D3+1 attacks each can prove surprisingly good!

12 Furies
12 Furies

Although at first glace the Furies seem to be quite rubbish, I honestly think they are the most critical formation in the list. They are the only place apart from the Chaos Altars where the list can get AA (even if it is only a 6+), they are very fast at 30cm and Jump Packs, and give the list access to very cheap Scout formations. If you look back in the blog you can see how useful they were to me in my game against my friend Ben – Turn 1, Turn 2 & Turn 3 – allowing me to force him to move his artillery and speeding up to threaten his Blitz. The models are the Guula Beasts, again from Dark Realm Miniatures.

Lastly, a picture of the models I still need to paint up for this army –  12 Screamers of Tzeentch, 3 stands of Seekers of Slaanesh, a Tzeentch Daemon Prince, a Knight Titan I plan to use as a Subjugator titan for the Lost and the Damned list and the Warmaster Lord of Change. Once everything is done the army should be a bit over 7,000pts, and reasonably future-proof in terms of list development.

Next up is my most recent Battlefleet Gothic Fleet – an Imperial fleet in dark green, cream and bronze. I am quite happy with the fleet and should have pics going up in the near future.
